Why likes matter for France accounts

The French retail year has two fixed peaks, and fashion and beauty creators feel both. The law allows two sales periods a year, one opening in January and one in early summer, and since 2020 each has been capped at four weeks. In the days around the opening, feeds fill with hauls, try-ons and “what’s worth buying” lists. A post that gets a slow start in that rush is buried within hours.

Instagram’s ranking explainer says that popularity signals, such as how quickly people like a post, count for much more in Explore than in Feed or Stories, and that Explore leans on likes, saves and shares. Likes ordered at the moment you post give a good guide a visible start while the topic is still being searched.

Use them selectively. The posts that benefit are time-bound: the soldes guide, a photo from the Fête de la Musique on the night of June 21, a recipe tied to a holiday dinner. Evergreen posts that keep getting found over months are better served by saves and shares from people who need them.

Keep sponsored posts out of it. A post paid for by a brand must be marked « publicité » or « collaboration commerciale » under the 2023 influencer law, and the brand will read the results as a report on your audience. Ordered likes would distort that report, which is not fair to the brand or good for your next deal.
