Why comments matter for France accounts

Under almost any post, a good question does more work than a compliment. A painter posting a Reel of a watercolor gets far more from a comment asking which paper she uses than from three fire emojis, because a question invites an answer and an answer invites the next comment. Ordered comments are most useful when you think of them that way: the first lines of a discussion you would like to have.

An empty comment section makes everyone hesitate to speak first. A few lines already there lower that barrier, and the replies you write to them double the activity under the post while showing visitors that you answer.

France is precise about promotion, so draw the line clearly. The 2023 influencer law requires paid promotion to be marked « publicité » or « collaboration commerciale ». EU consumer law also treats fake endorsements used to promote products as an unfair practice. Ordered comments must never pose as buyers recommending a product. Keep them on the subject of the post, write them as questions or reactions, and on sponsored posts, skip them entirely.

Language helps the comments read naturally. Write in French if your audience is French-speaking, keep the register consistent, and include a line or two that a newcomer could answer. Place the order as you publish, stay available for the first hour on Paris time, and reply to every person who joins in. That reply habit, more than any order, is what keeps a comment section alive.
