Why comments matter for Dutch posts

A comment is the one signal on Instagram that can turn into a conversation. In the Netherlands, a post with a few comments already under it makes it easier for a stranger to add one. An empty thread leaves the reply alone in the room.

The best comments ask something the next person can answer. Think of a record shop in Utrecht posting its Saturday arrivals, or an event organizer in Amsterdam during Amsterdam Dance Event. The festival runs from 21 to 25 October 2026, and the organizers’ own figures put 2025 at nearly 3,500 artists across more than 1,200 events. In a week like that, a post asking which night people are going gets real answers, and your replies decide whether the thread continues.

Language is a practical choice. The Dutch can switch to English in the same thread without anyone noticing, so you can mix both and still sound natural. What you should not do is write comments that pose as customers. Dutch rules have explicitly banned false consumer reviews since 28 May 2022, and the consumer authority has said it goes after both sellers of fake interactions and the businesses that use them. A line such as ‘Ordered last week, best coffee beans I have had’ under a shop post is exactly the case to avoid.

Keep it to questions, reactions and banter about the post itself, reply to each one and let the threads run. If the post is sponsored, add the label before anything else, and read our disclosure rules by country. Pair the thread with Instagram likes so the post does not look empty in every other way.

Quality or Premium?

Both tiers deliver Instagram comments the same way. The difference is the accounts they come from and what happens if the count drops.

How to order from the Netherlands

  1. Choose Quality or Premium and how many comments you want.

  2. Paste the post link. We check the post is public and show you a preview before you pay.

  3. Pay by card or Apple Pay.

  4. Delivery starts on its own after payment, and your order page shows progress until it is complete.

Before you order

  • The post and your profile have to be public while the order runs.
  • Don't delete or archive the post until delivery completes.
  • To boost several posts, add one order per post to your cart.
  • Comments help a post get noticed. They can't replace posts people want to watch.

Can I write the comments in Dutch?

Yes. Custom comments are posted exactly as you type them, one per line, so Dutch, English or a mix all work. Match the language of the post and vary the wording: a row of identical replies looks wrong. A Dutch caption with a few Dutch questions underneath reads naturally, and an English music post can carry English comments.

Are fake reviews illegal in the Netherlands?

Yes. Since 28 May 2022 Dutch rules explicitly ban posting or commissioning false consumer reviews and recommendations, and the consumer authority ACM enforces them. A comment that pretends to be a customer's experience of your product can count. Write questions and reactions to the post itself instead, and never use the order to give a business or product fake praise.

What kind of comments work under a Dutch event post?

Questions that have real answers. Under a post about an Amsterdam Dance Event afterparty, 'Which stage is this?' or 'Is there a queue at 1 a.m.?' invites replies you can answer with details. Avoid claims about attendance or sold-out nights that are not true, since the thread should help people take part, not overstate what happened.

Are comments worth it on a student society post?

They help when they ask something. A freshers' post that gets 'Is the first meeting open to first years?' gives you a reason to reply with a time and place, which is the reply that brings people in. Generic emoji comments add nothing. Pair them with a link to a sign-up form in your bio, not in the comments.

Do you need my password?

No. Comments are posted on a public post, and the link is all we use. You will never be asked to sign in to Instagram through Socipro or to hand over a security code. Messages asking for your login in our name are not from us, so please forward them to support.

Will I lose Instagram comments later?

Some may disappear if Instagram removes an account that posted one, and neither tier includes a refill on comments. The reason is practical: we cannot tell a comment Instagram removed from one you deleted or hid yourself. If an order stops short of the number you paid for, the missing part returns to your Socipro wallet.
