Why views matter for Germany accounts

The most useful thing a view order gives a German creator is a clean answer to a language question. Should you film in German, or in English for a wider reach? Instagram cannot tell you until enough people have watched both. DataReportal counts 31.3 million people in Instagram’s German ad audience, and they are a different crowd from the international English-language one. Which of them sticks with your Reels is something you can measure.

Instagram’s ranking explainer describes what it predicts for Reels: whether people will watch to the end, reshare, like and open the audio page. Those reactions only show up once people have watched. Views give a Reel its first viewers, and the Insights afterward show completion rate and shares from people who do not follow you.

A simple German test runs like this. Record a two-minute recipe, a bike repair or a city tip once in German and once in English. Post them on two different weekday evenings, put the same view order behind each, and compare after three days. If the German version keeps people watching longer, you have found your audience; if English wins, you know your niche travels.

Subtitles are worth adding either way. Anyone watching on the U-Bahn or in a waiting room with the sound off needs on-screen text to get through the first seconds. Once you know which version works, make the next ten Reels in that format and order views only on the ones you want to test.
