Instagram growth guides

Instagram changes what it rewards more often than most apps, and much of the advice about it is guesswork repeated until it sounds like fact. These guides start from what Instagram itself has published, in its help center and in posts from the people who run it, and then add what we see from the order side: which numbers move, which ones fall back, and which ones nobody outside Instagram can measure.

If you read one guide first, make it how the Instagram algorithm works. It explains how the feed, Stories, Explore and Reels each decide what to show, and why a Reel that holds attention in its first seconds travels further than one with a larger like count.

From there, two guides cover the numbers people ask us about most. Instagram engagement rate shows how to calculate it, which formula a brand is likely to use, and why a “good” rate depends on account size. Why Instagram followers drop explains clean-ups, inactive accounts and ordinary churn, and what you can and cannot do about each.

The rest of the category answers narrower questions. What counts as a Reel view. Why shares and sends now carry more weight than likes. How the repost button works and who sees a repost. How many followers it takes before brands or Instagram’s own programs start paying. Each guide names its sources and the date it was last checked.

We sell Instagram services, and some guides say where a paid order fits and where it does not. When they do, they tell you what Instagram’s rules say first. For the services themselves, see the Instagram growth services page.
