Why views matter for Bulgaria accounts

A new video on a small Bulgarian channel often sits for days at a few dozen views. That number appears next to the title wherever the video is shown, and viewers who see it are less patient with a slow start. YouTube reached 4.50 million people in Bulgaria in late 2025, according to DataReportal, so the audience exists; the hard part is the first impression.

A view order gives the upload a first audience, which helps in two ways. It removes the “nobody has watched this” signal, and it gives YouTube Studio enough data to show the moment people stop watching, which title drew clicks and how long the average viewer stayed.

Bulgaria’s calendar offers moments worth planning for. March 1 is Baba Marta Day, a custom UNESCO lists as shared heritage with Romania, Moldova and North Macedonia, and it brings searches for how to make martenitsi and what they mean. Upload a week or two ahead of such a moment so the video has time to gather watch time.

Run each test with one change: two thumbnails, two titles, or a short intro against a long one, with the same view order and the same release hour on Sofia time. If a brand sponsors the video, say so clearly in the video itself, as Bulgaria’s National Council for Self-Regulation recommends, and keep that video out of your tests.
