Why views matter for Bulgaria accounts

A Bulgarian creator making Reels faces a language choice from the first frame. Bulgarian is written in Cyrillic, and a Reel with Bulgarian speech and Cyrillic captions speaks directly to people at home. English opens the door to a much larger pool but puts you in competition with the whole world. With Instagram’s Bulgarian ad audience at 1.95 million people in late 2025, according to DataReportal, the decision matters.

A new Reel from a small account may get fifty views, which is not enough to tell whether the topic, the hook or the language held people back. Instagram says that for Reels it predicts whether viewers will watch to the end, reshare, like and open the audio page. A view order gives the Reel a first audience, and those predictions start to show up in your Insights.

Use that audience to test one thing at a time. Film a recipe for banitsa or a hiking route in the Rhodopes twice: once in Bulgarian with Cyrillic captions, once in English. Post them on two evenings at the same hour on Sofia time, give each the same order, and compare completion rates and shares from people who do not follow you.

If a brand pays for a Reel, mark it as advertising with something clear like #реклама/ad next to the post, as the NSS recommends, and keep it out of your view tests so the brand sees real results.
