How it works

The tool reads the public numbers on the profile at the moment of your check, so the result is a snapshot rather than a live ticker. The ratio is followers divided by following: 5,000 followers and 250 following gives 20.

What the TikTok follower counter shows and what it cannot

Type a public username, with or without the @, or paste the profile link. You get the account’s followers, following, posts and the follower-to-following ratio worked out from the first two. These are the numbers any visitor sees on a public profile.

The tool cannot tell you who the followers are, who left, how many people watched a given video, or anything about a private account. TikTok keeps those behind its own login and privacy controls. A tool offering them would need access to your account, and this one asks for none.

When a lookup fails, the usual reasons are a misspelled username, a private or removed account, a username that was changed recently, or too many checks in a short time. Rate limits keep the tool usable for everyone.

How to read the numbers

Followers is how many accounts follow the profile at the time of the check. Following is how many it follows. Posts is the number of videos on the profile.

The ratio is followers divided by following. A creator with 30,000 followers who follows 150 accounts has a ratio of 200. A new account with 400 followers that follows 800 has a ratio of 0.5. The ratio describes how an account is built. It does not describe how good the videos are.

You may see a different figure in the app a few minutes later. The tool reads the profile at the moment you check, while counts keep moving as people follow and unfollow. Big numbers are often shortened too, so 1.2M in the app and 1,214,380 in the tool are the same account.

Followers do not decide who sees a video, so pair the count with how people react to recent posts. Our TikTok engagement rate calculator does that math from your averages. If you are starting a new account and want the profile to look established when visitors arrive, you can buy TikTok followers and check the result here.

Privacy and safety

The lookup reads public data only. You do not sign in. It uses the same public-profile lookup as the check in our order box, returns the result to you, and does not save the username or the numbers.

It works for public accounts. TikTok lets each person choose between public and private, and a private profile returns nothing here. TikTok’s support pages explain how those settings work.

Use it for your own profile, a public page you are researching, or an account you are about to work with. Please do not use it to compile lists of other people’s profiles. If a result looks wrong, wait a few minutes and run it again.

Questions about this tool

Can I see who follows a TikTok account here?

No. The counter gives totals for followers, following and posts, not names. The list of followers is shown inside TikTok, and the account owner controls who can view it. A website cannot read that list without your login, and we never ask for one. To see your own followers, open your profile in the app.

Will it work on a private TikTok account?

No. Private accounts do not share their details with the public, so the lookup will report that it could not find a public profile. If the account is yours, you can switch it to public in TikTok's privacy settings. We do not try to bypass what a person has chosen to keep private.

Why does the count differ from the TikTok app?

Mostly timing. The tool reads the profile at the moment you press the button, and the app may be a few minutes ahead or behind. TikTok also shortens big numbers, so 1.2M and 1,214,380 can describe the same account. If the gap stays large for a day, recheck the username spelling.

Does a high follower count mean a video will get views?

Not on its own. TikTok recommends videos mainly from how viewers respond, and followers are not a direct factor in For You. A small account can reach far more people than it has followers, and a large one can post a video that goes nowhere. Use the count as context, not a forecast.

Do you keep the usernames I check?

No. We use the same public-profile lookup as our order box, show you the result, and do not store the username or the figures. The tool also has rate limits, so if you run many checks quickly it may pause new lookups for a few minutes.

Is the number updated in real time?

No. It shows what the profile displayed at the moment of your check. Run it again later to see change over time. A site that animates a count every second is still showing an estimate between two real readings, and ours does not do that.
