Why Reel views matter for Irish accounts

Ireland has one day a year when the whole world looks at it, and it is March 17. The St Patrick’s Festival runs from March 13 to 17, 2027, with the national parade starting at noon in Dublin city center. For five days feeds fill with green, marching bands, pub interiors and tourists filming the same corners of the same streets.

For an Irish creator, a pub, a tour guide or a restaurant, that is both an opportunity and a trap. Everyone posts at once, and the clip filmed at the parade barrier competes with thousands of others. The advantage goes to whoever has a clip with something specific to show: the view from a window above Cuffe Street, the barman pulling pints for the crowd, a family who flew in from Boston to find a street their great-grandmother left.

Views matter because the first few hundred decide how a Reel is treated. With a small account the early views arrive slowly, by which time the event has moved on. A starting count lets a good clip pick up speed while the hashtag is still busy.

Plan the shoot before the week starts. Film vertically, put the strongest image in the first second, and add captions in English so the sound is optional. An Irish line in the caption is a small, welcome touch. Then check your Insights for watch time; if people leave in two seconds, the edit needs work, not more views. Pair a Reel with Instagram followers in Ireland when you are launching the account itself.
