One campaign price per package of hours. Every package covers the worldwide list and the four countries you pick; the countries do not change the price.

Card and Apple Pay both work. The start time is chosen in UTC, which runs 10 or 11 hours behind Sydney depending on daylight saving, so convert carefully. Book at least an hour ahead, and up to 30 days, so our staff can approve the hashtag.

Why trend topics matter for Australian accounts

Australia’s trending list on X draws on a far smaller pool of users than the American or British lists. On a typical evening it carries a mix of sport, politics, whatever’s on free-to-air TV, and topics spilling over from overseas. A local hashtag needs a concentrated burst of posts to break into that mix, which a single release or a creator’s milestone rarely has on its own.

A trend campaign supplies that burst for the hours you choose. It aims at the Australian list and the worldwide list together, and you add three more countries; New Zealand is the obvious pick for a trans-Tasman tour, the UK or US for an act with fans abroad. When it lands on a list, Explore browsers notice it, get curious and click into the posts carrying it. For a Sydney band’s album night or a Brisbane convention’s opening day, that’s outside attention the hashtag wouldn’t get by itself.

Time zones need thought. Between October and April the south-eastern states and the ACT shift their clocks while Queensland, WA and the NT stay put, so a campaign that starts in Sydney’s evening is still afternoon in Perth. National audiences need a longer package, and because the start picker is in UTC, an Australian evening falls on the UTC morning of the same date. Also check the sporting calendar: finals, Test matches and big races compete for the same space.

Prepare before the campaign starts. Pin a post that explains the hashtag, get collaborators ready to use it, and keep the link people need one tap away. Our team reviews every hashtag and turns down anything political or aimed at a person. Read our guide to X trends for how the list works, and see X followers in Australia for the account side.

Before you order

  • Trending lists are decided by X (Twitter). If your hashtag doesn't reach the lists, the amount is refunded to your Socipro wallet.
  • Hashtags that break platform rules, involve fraud or adult content, or target people are not accepted.
  • Check the spelling twice: the hashtag cannot be changed once the campaign starts.
  • Have a few posts using the hashtag ready, so people who click through find something to read.

What time should an Australian trend campaign start?

At the moment people can act on it, usually the eastern evening. During daylight saving, 7 p.m. in Sydney is 8 a.m. UTC, 6 p.m. in Brisbane and 4 p.m. in Perth, so pick a longer package if your audience includes Western Australia. For a release, set the start time to the drop.

Can I trend a hashtag about a footy or cricket team?

Supporter hashtags marking a milestone or a fan day can be approved, as long as nothing in them takes aim at a rival team, a person or a group. Official club or league slogans are brand property, and we only run them with the owner's say-so. Remember it must be a single hashtag, with no spaces.

What happens if my hashtag doesn't reach the Australian list?

You get the full campaign price back as Socipro wallet credit when the hashtag doesn't reach the lists the campaign targets. No position is promised, because that depends on what else people are posting about that evening, and a big match or breaking story can fill the list. Once it has reached them, it counts as delivered.

Which countries should an Australian campaign pick?

Pick the audiences you actually speak to. Australia is preselected and the worldwide list is included. New Zealand is the obvious second choice for sport, Anzac Day or shared TV, and the UK or US suit expat communities and overseas fans. Choose each country by where the people reading your hashtag live, not by size.

Can X tell, and is it safe to buy a trend?

There is risk. X's authenticity rules prohibit operating multiple accounts to inflate the prominence of content. X also says its trends filter out posts from bots, new accounts and low-follower authors. Use a topic tied to a real moment and support it with your own posts.
